Welcome to Thompson Insurance, Inc.

The Edward Thompson Agency (predecessor of Thompson Insurance, Inc.) was founded in 1964 by Edward M. Thompson.  After a stint in the family wholesale grocery business and then later as a homebuilder, Mr. Thompson decided to start his own independent insurance agency.  His hard work, dedication to professionalism, and civic involvement ensured his success.

Nephew, George Thompson, also after a few years in the grocery business, joined Mr. Thompson in 1977.  Later on, two of Mr. Thompson's sons, Irby and Robert, also joined the agency as well.

In 1979, the company moved to 2951 Zelda Road and remained there until January, 2005.  At that time, the company relocated to their new location at 3300 Gatsby Lane.

In 1984, George, Irby and Robert purchased the Edward Thompson Agency and formed Thompson Insurance, Inc.  Mr. Thompson passed away in 1986 and in the following years, both Robert and Irby left the company.  Today, George Thompson is the sole stockholder and President of Thompson Insurance, Inc.  He continues in the footsteps of his Uncle Ed; dedicated to professionalism, civic involvement and hard work.

The objective of Thompson Insurance, Inc. is to professionally serve its insureds so that their losses and their cost of protection are minimized.  Thompson Insurance, Inc. has been recognized as a "Best Practice" agency by IIAA and Reagan Consulting for seven consecutive years, placing us as one of the top 30 agencies in the country among our peers.
